A major component to creating balance and wellness in the body that many of us lack (myself included) is stretching. Here is more on the Ki-Hara method and it’s benefits:
The Ki-Hara Method
The Ki-Hara Method of Resistance Stretching is a new and innovative form of bodywork that increases strength and flexibility while improving overall well being. During a session, the client continuously contracts their muscles while the trainer gently pushes them into a stretch. By stretching and strengthening the body dynamically in safe ranges, we keep the muscles and joints safe from injury.
The basic premise behind the Ki-Hara Method is the true definition of the word Flexibility - the ability to bend. In Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching we keep muscles strong THROUGHOUT their ranges of motion in order to build elastic muscles, thus not only allowing muscles to lengthen but to properly shorten. This allows the body to fold. The inability to fold is what causes muscle cramping or feeling jammed.
When stretched, muscles release toxins and allow for the movement of energy throughout the body. Physical flexibility helps facilitate overall flexibility and health in body and mind. A certified Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching Trainer can work with you to address your specific needs.
Ki-Hara Resistance Stretching has many benefits:
reduced sports injury
decrease recovery time
increased muscle tone
reduction in back pain, shoulders, and neck (can somebody say YAAASSSUH!?)
a full body workout
Ki: The circulating life energy that in Eastern philosophy is thought to be inherent in all things.
Hara: The vital center of the self, the focus of existence. It is located one and a half inches below the navel and one and a half inches inward toward the spine (also the body’s central axis). Energy (chi/ki/prana) is stored in the Hara where it is heated before spreading throughout the body.
Ki-Hara is the next evolution of bodywork - removing the knots that keep our Ki from circulating properly. Ki-Hara's efficiency makes it ideal for those who don't have time for many different forms of work - incorporating pain removal, flexibility training, strength training and soft tissue manipulation in each move. Be active in your recovery - Stretch Stronger.
Mashing is another component of Ki-Hara that prepares the
muscles for stretching and aids in recovery. Most assisted Ki-Hara sessions involve mashing to warm up the body or help flush toxins from the muscles. In this technique, the trainers use their feet to release myofascial tissue and improve healthy blood flow to damaged areas to allow muscles to stretch more effectively.

What are your top wellness goals at the moment?
What boundaries do you currently have in place to protect those goals?
What boundaries do you feel you may need to establish?
What are three ways you can set the tone going forward to stay on track with your goals?
Arrive for class about 5-10 minutes early to mingle and chat before the class.
After class, linger about 5 minutes or so to hit the powder room and grab our gear before heading over to Cafecito’s as a group.
Once at Cafecitos, we’ll grab our seats and place any orders. I recommend at least getting a beverage while there since we’ll be taking up space at the cafe. There is no pressure to go all out with a full blown meal - please feel comfortable to honor your budgets accordingly.
Once we’ve settled in we will do introductions (name, side of town you’re on, your wellness goals, why you came to the event)
I’ll pass out the worksheets and we’ll begin the discussion.
